Our Story

Hannah Abott, a devout journalist and rights activist, decided that enough was enough when it came to neglected, abandoned, abused, discriminated members of the LGBTTQQIAAP community. Hannah grew up in a small but close Catholic home where freedom of sexual orientation and gender did not exist, and she knew first-hand how awful things could get. She, along with a great group of individuals, got together to create Identity Finders. What started as a small group of about ten people who wanted to change lives has known grown into a flourishing group of nearly 30 staff members (on and off site) who are passionate about change.

Today, we occupy a storefront building off of Morgan Street in Raleigh, NC which houses up to 5 people a night. We hold over 15 strong small groups each week for multiple sessions and continue to grow more groups. We’ve held and attended marches, peaceful protests, charity events, and demonstrations across the city. Identity Finders is a non-profit organization and we serve our community freely. Donations are welcome! Please contact us for further information about this.
